Stephen A. Smith suffers ankle injury while playing basketball with Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons

ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith, known for his outspoken opinions on the Dallas Cowboys, found himself in an unexpected situation when he suffered an ankle injury while playing basketball with Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons ahead of the Celebrity All-Star Game on Friday.

The injury was revealed by ‘First Take’ host Molly Qerim at the start of the show, with Smith undergoing tests at the hospital. Despite the setback, Smith expressed his determination to still coach his team against fellow media personality Shannon Sharpe, albeit while wearing an ankle brace.

While Smith later refuted the initial report that Parsons’ move caused the injury, he humorously referred to the Cowboys star as an ‘offensive foul waiting to happen.’ Despite the injury, Smith’s coaching role allowed him to witness Parsons’ impressive performance as he led Team Shannon to victory, earning the Celebrity Game MVP title with 37 points and 16 rebounds.
