Design marketplace Minted has announced a new partnership with commerce platform DoorDash, enabling nationwide on-demand delivery of Minted greeting cards. The collaboration will kick off with a Valentine’s Day collection, followed by a broader assortment of cards for everyday occasions.
Shoppers can now purchase greeting cards featuring the work of independent artists, along with other gifts through DashMart, a new type of grocery and convenience store on DoorDash, and The Flower & Gift Boutique.
The partnership caters to younger generations who have embraced online food delivery. According to a LendingTree survey, 82% of consumers used on-demand delivery over the past year, with Millennials being the biggest spenders. Minted’s customer base is notably younger, with the majority falling between 19 and 38 years old, in contrast to the traditional greeting card industry where purchasers are typically between 35 and 60 years old, as reported by the Greeting Cards Association.
Additionally, an Advantage Solutions survey revealed that while the majority of Americans plan to purchase a Valentine’s Day card, 25% of men intend to do so just one to two days beforehand.
Minted co-founder and CEO Melissa Kim highlighted the appeal of the partnership, stating, “Millennials and Gen Z consumers seek the right balance in the products they buy: where convenience meets quality. At the same time, younger consumers increasingly value authenticity and purchases that align with their values. By partnering with DoorDash, Minted makes it possible for consumers to purchase artisanal products that express their individuality — and support the livelihoods of independent artists — with the immediacy and convenience of on-demand delivery.”
In another industry development, Elevate Software has successfully completed the acquisition of Mi9 Retail, a leading provider of software solutions across various retail segments including merchandising, store operations, customer engagement, e-commerce, and business analytics.
The acquisition positions Elevate Software as a significant player in the retail technology space, expanding its capabilities and client base. The company’s CEO expressed admiration for the relationships Mi9 has fostered with its clients, emphasizing the potential for a seamless integration and enhanced service offerings.
Keeping pace with the times, the development of the times is urgent.
Very good, I hope I can give more in my later life.
