Nationwide Recall of Dual Basket Air Fryers Due to Potential Burn Hazard

One of the most beloved kitchen appliances, the air fryer, is facing a nationwide recall. The United States Consumer Product Safety Commission has announced the recall of two models of dual basket air fryers manufactured by Empower Brands due to a potential burn hazard to consumers.

The specific products being recalled are the PowerXL™ DUAF-10 and DUAF-005 Vortex Dual-Basket Air Fryers. The recall was initiated after Empower Brands received 41 reports of the plastic U-Channel connector, used to combine the two food baskets inside the air fryers, breaking during use, resulting in a burn hazard. Additionally, three reports of burns have been received, prompting the recall of approximately 319,000 units.

These air fryers were sold at various retailers including Target, Walmart, and Kohls. Consumers who have purchased these affected air fryers are advised to stop using them immediately and contact Empower Brands for a full refund or a replacement.

The recall serves as a reminder for consumers to stay informed about product recalls and to prioritize safety when using household appliances. As always, it’s crucial for manufacturers to prioritize the safety and well-being of their consumers, and for consumers to remain vigilant about the products they bring into their homes.
