Suns vs. Nets Predictions and Best Bets
This is a game being broadcast by ABC with an 8:30 p.m. start time, which you never saw in previous seasons when Wednesday nights were reserved for ESPN doubleheaders. ABC is an arm of the Disney Corporation, and this was a comeback night that Disney executives circled last summer when the schedule was being made.
Durant was part of a superteam that never did anything super in Brooklyn when Kyrie Irving and James Harden were around, and all of those players have been dispatched elsewhere since. The Nets have had their ups and downs but are coming off a 147-point offensive outburst against Utah on Monday night. An under-reported theme of this game is that it also is a chance for Mikal Bridges to make some noise against the team that dealt him to Brooklyn for Durant.
Bridges showed himself to be a very good offensive player once he was sent to the Nets, and he is coming off a 33-point offensive outburst against the Jazz in which he tied his season-high with 14 3-point attempts. Durant is averaging 28.2 points per game for the Suns while shooting 53.1 percent from the field. He scored 27 against Brooklyn when the Nets visited Phoenix in December and defeated the Suns 116-112 as the Nets moved to 13-10 on the season. Since then they have gone 6-17 and have fallen to 11th place in the East.
The Suns are favored by 3.5, with the over/under down a point since early this morning and at 233.5. The Suns have gone under in six of their last eight, while Brooklyn has gone under in six of nine, but went over by 25 Monday night against Utah.
