The 2024 Oscar nominations have been announced, and the film ‘Oppenheimer’ leads the pack with 13 nods, followed by ‘Poor Things’ with 11. This year’s 96th annual Academy Awards come after the success of ‘Barbenheimer’ and Christopher Nolan’s World War II biopic, which dominated box offices worldwide.
While the nominations brought some surprises, such as the absence of a best director nomination for Greta Gerwig for ‘Barbie’ and no acting nod for Margot Robbie, there were also notable inclusions. America Ferrera received a best supporting actress nomination for her role in ‘Barbie,’ and Justine Triet became the eighth woman nominated for best director for ‘Anatomy of a Fall.’
