Bellevue Celebrates Inaugural Holidays in the Vue Parade
Bellevue, Tennessee, is set to kick off a brand new holiday tradition with the first-ever Holidays in the Vue parade, taking place this Saturday. This festive event aims to bring the community together in celebration of various December holidays, including Christmas, Hanukkah, and Kwanzaa.
Organized by a group of local mothers, the parade represents a collaborative effort to foster community spirit and positivity during the holiday season. Kristi Gooden, one of the organizers, expressed the importance of such an event, stating, “A parade would be able to do that, bring some positivity to the community that we really, really need.” This initiative began in January and has gained momentum through partnerships with the Metro Council, the Bellevue Harpeth Chamber of Commerce, and local businesses.
As Bellevue has not previously hosted a holiday event of this nature, the parade is a unique opportunity for residents to come together. Gooden emphasized the goal of creating joyful experiences for families, saying, “Our goal really would be to see smiles on kids’ faces and truly create a family and community tradition every single year.” The parade is designed to be a free event, making it accessible to all community members.
The parade will feature an impressive lineup of 45 floats, vehicles, and walking groups. Among the highlights are performances by the Tennessee Titans’ drumline, cheerleaders, GNASH from the Nashville Predators, and appearances by Nashville Mayor Freddie O’Connell, Metro Council members, school bands, dance groups, and of course, Santa and Mrs. Claus. Adding to the excitement, Carley Vogel, Miss Tennessee 2024, has been announced as the grand marshal of the parade.
For those planning to attend, it’s important to note that roads will begin closing at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 7. The parade is scheduled to start at 10:00 a.m. at Bellevue Middle School, located at 655 Colice Jeanne Rd. Participants will then travel along Colice Jeanne Road, turn onto Highway 70 South, and finally make a right onto Sawyer Brown Road, concluding the festivities at One Bellevue Place near the intersection of Sawyer Brown Road and Esterbrook Drive by 11:30 a.m.
Gooden encourages attendees to arrive early, bringing along blankets and chairs to fully enjoy the parade experience. This inaugural event promises to be a delightful celebration, setting the stage for future holiday traditions in Bellevue.
