Lizzy Caplan Lists Hollywood Hills Home for $2.85 Million

In a noteworthy real estate move, Lizzy Caplan, the acclaimed star of the hit series ‘Masters of Sex,’ has placed her stunning Hollywood Hills residence on the market for a price of $2.85 million. This modernist retreat, boasting three bedrooms, is nestled above Los Angeles’ picturesque Bronson Canyon and offers a glimpse of the iconic Hollywood Sign.

Caplan acquired the property approximately four years prior to her marriage to English actor Tom Riley, following her previous relationship with the late Matthew Perry. The actress purchased this mid-century modern home, built in 1961, for slightly more than $1.8 million. Now, after more than a decade of ownership, the property is listed with Patricia Ruben of Sotheby’s International Realty, Los Feliz Brokerage.

The residence spans 2,100 square feet and is situated on a tranquil street within the desirable Los Feliz Oaks neighborhood. In addition to being available for purchase, the home can also be rented for $15,000 per month, a reduction from its original asking price of $17,500 per month.

Upon entering the home, guests are greeted by a gated courtyard that leads into a vibrant atrium filled with lush greenery. The interior features pale wood floors that extend into a spacious living room, which is anchored by a charming whitewashed raised hearth brick fireplace. Large glass sliders seamlessly connect the living area to the backyard, while clerestory windows flood the space with natural light, enhancing the home’s eclectic aesthetic. A cozy adjacent sitting area is designed with a curvy built-in sofa and stylish built-in bookshelves.

The kitchen is a chef’s dream, equipped with high-end appliances, striking emerald-green laminate cabinets, and a rustic butcher block island that is elegantly illuminated by two Moroccan lanterns. This culinary space opens to a relaxed dining area that also leads to the backyard through additional sliding glass doors.

Among the three bedrooms, one guest room is currently set up as a den, complete with a built-in entertainment center. Another guest bedroom is adorned in a deep shade of blue, contrasting beautifully with a wall of white oak wardrobes. The primary bedroom serves as a serene retreat, offering a peaceful view into the atrium, while the attached bathroom features a unique wet area wrapped in blue tiles, including an indoor-outdoor shower.

The backyard oasis is designed for privacy, surrounded by tall trees and lush plantings, allowing for ultimate relaxation. The concrete terrace encircles a pill-shaped pool, complemented by a lounge area that extends over the hillside. This inviting space is outfitted with cushioned seating and retractable sunshades, providing a perfect spot to unwind while enjoying a partial view of the Hollywood Sign.

Lizzy Caplan, known for her early roles in the cult classic ‘Freaks and Geeks’ and as the memorable Janis Ian in the 2004 film ‘Mean Girls,’ has continued to captivate audiences with her performances. Her decision to sell this exquisite property marks another chapter in her dynamic career and personal life.
