An American Airlines plane skidded off the runway and onto the grass at Rochester Airport in New York as it landed. The aircraft, which had 53 people on board, flew in from Philadelphia and landed around 4 pm before sliding off the runway amidst snowy conditions. Emergency services responded to the area, but there have been no reported injuries.

A spokesperson for Rochester Airport confirmed that the American Airlines flight landed safely on the main runway before skidding off onto the grass. The cause of the aircraft veering off the runway is currently unclear.

The AA5811 flight from Philadelphia, which skidded onto the grass, had 53 people on board, and fortunately, there were no injuries reported. Passengers described the incident, with one individual stating, ‘We just landed and were taxiing back. The pilot while taxiing took the turn too quickly and we skidded into the grass.’ Another passenger mentioned, ‘The plane is fine and everyone is ok they’re just not telling us anything about when we are getting off.’

A picture taken from the plane shows the wing of the aircraft in the background of a snow-covered grass field. A video, recorded from inside the aircraft, captures the snowy conditions at the airport during the landing.
