The delay in the autopsy report of late Nigerian artiste, Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, has been attributed to a pending toxicology report, as revealed by the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Fayoade Adegoke. The commissioner disclosed this information at the state command Headquarters in the Ikeja Local Government Area of the state on Wednesday.

Adegoke explained that the toxicology result from specialists abroad is awaited, causing the delay in the autopsy report. He mentioned the destruction of the laboratory built by the Lagos State Government during the End SARS protests, which led to the need to seek toxicology services from the US.

Last year, the Lagos State Police Command reported that the autopsy report, conducted two months prior, had not been provided to them. The passing of Mohbad on September 12, 2023, sparked widespread discussions and debates both in Nigeria and internationally, prompting the police to initiate an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the artist’s death.

Mohbad, a rising star in the Nigerian music scene, tragically passed away at the age of 24 and was laid to rest in the Ikorodu area of Lagos State the day following his demise, deviating from the usual customs and leaving fans and Nigerians puzzled.

The demand for a thorough investigation into Mohbad’s passing grew among Nigerians, leading to the police exhuming his body for a comprehensive autopsy. The investigation revealed an altercation between Mohbad and his childhood friend, Owodunni Ibrahim, also known as PrimeBoy, which resulted in Mohbad’s fatal injuries.

Lagos Police Commissioner, Idowu Owohunwa, identified an auxiliary nurse, Ms Feyisayo Ogedengbe, as the prime suspect in Mohbad’s death. Ogedengbe, invited by Mohbad’s friend, Ayobami Sodiq aka Spending, allegedly administered three injections in a non-clinical environment, leading to the chain of reactions that ultimately caused the singer’s demise.

The delay in the autopsy report and the ongoing investigations continue to keep the public and fans of Mohbad eagerly awaiting further developments in this tragic case.
