Adestor by Lecta Opens New Plant in Germany to Boost Self-Adhesive Product Efficiency

In a significant development for the self-adhesive materials industry, Adestor by Lecta has officially opened a new converting plant in Aschaffenburg, Bavaria, Germany. This facility aims to enhance the efficiency of order fulfillment for a comprehensive range of self-adhesive products and is strategically located to serve major cities across Central Europe.

The new plant’s advantageous location means that key urban centers such as Berlin, Munich, Paris, Amsterdam, and Prague are all within a 500-kilometer radius. Additionally, its close proximity to Frankfurt provides logistical benefits that are expected to streamline operations.

Spanning over 4,000 square meters, the facility features a state-of-the-art metal rack storage system capable of accommodating 400 jumbo reels, translating to more than six million square meters of self-adhesive paper. The production process is supported by two winders and a finishing line equipped with advanced machinery, including a roll handler and packer.

To further enhance productivity, the plant will soon integrate an automatic packing line and a slitter rewinder, which will contribute to improved operational efficiency and minimize trim loss during production.

Additionally, the facility includes two loading bays and various ancillary services, such as a workshop, maintenance equipment areas, and changing rooms, alongside over 300 square meters dedicated to office space. This comprehensive setup is designed to function independently and deliver rapid service, with turnaround times of 24 to 48 hours for clients throughout Northern Europe.

Luis Ibáñez, the site leader for Lecta Self-Adhesive in Aschaffenburg, emphasized the company’s commitment to building a strong team at this new location. He stated, “Our aim is very clear: to be closer to our customers in Central and Northern Europe so that Adestor by Lecta becomes a European global player, extending our strong tradition beyond our domestic markets in Southern Europe.” This statement reflects the company’s vision for growth and expansion within the self-adhesive materials sector.

The establishment of this new plant is a pivotal component of Lecta’s strategic plan aimed at achieving ambitious growth targets in the self-adhesive market. The company anticipates that the success of the Aschaffenburg facility will positively impact all of Lecta’s mills, reinforcing its position as a leading supplier of materials for the Adestor range.

This move not only signifies Adestor by Lecta’s dedication to enhancing customer service but also highlights the growing demand for self-adhesive materials across Europe. The strategic location and advanced production capabilities of the new plant are expected to play a crucial role in meeting this demand effectively.

In related news, PPG has appointed Amy Mercante as the general manager of specialty products, further indicating shifts within the industry. Other companies, such as Cartes and I.D. Images, are also making headlines with their recent developments, showcasing a dynamic landscape in the labels and packaging market.

As the industry continues to evolve, the opening of Adestor by Lecta’s new facility marks a significant step forward, positioning the company for future growth and reinforcing its commitment to providing high-quality self-adhesive solutions to customers across Europe.
