Team USA’s final roster for the 2024 Paris Olympics has been officially announced by the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Committee, revealing a group of nearly 600 athletes set to compete across 31 different sports in Paris. The team includes renowned athletes like Simone Biles, Katie Ledecky, and Noah Lyles, who are expected to lead the charge for gold medals.

The roster showcases a diverse mix of athletes from 46 states and the District of Columbia, spanning in age from 16 to nearly 60. While many first-time Olympians will make their debut, the team also boasts a few seasoned veterans with six Olympic appearances.

Sarah Hirshland, the CEO of the USOPC, emphasized the organization’s anticipation for a strong showing at the Paris Games but refrained from making specific predictions. The Games are scheduled to take place from July 26 to August 11, promising thrilling competitions and remarkable performances.

Gender Distribution: Women dominate the U.S. Olympic team, accounting for 53% of the roster with 314 athletes, while men make up the remaining 47% with 278 athletes. The team is well-balanced and poised to excel in various events.

California Leads the Way

California stands out as the state with the highest number of athletes on the 2024 U.S. Olympic team, with nearly 1 in 5 athletes hailing from the Golden State. The strong presence of Californian athletes underscores the state’s rich sporting talent and contribution to Team USA’s diverse lineup.
