Jacob Elordi, known for his roles in Euphoria and the Kissing Booth franchise, is gearing up for his debut as a host on Saturday Night Live (SNL) this weekend. The actor, who will be joined by musical guest Reneé Rapp, was featured in the first promo released by the NBC sketch show.
In the promo, Elordi is seen at the top of the stage in Studio 8H, attempting to descend the three steps that hosts typically walk down for the opening monologue. However, it seems Elordi found the task more challenging than anticipated, with castmembers Punkie Johnson and Marcello Hernandez noticing his struggle.
Elordi is heard saying, ‘They all make it look so easy,’ in a pep talk to himself about tackling the steps. This leads to a confused Hernandez overhearing and asking, ‘Is he looking at the stairs?’ But Elordi doesn’t give up and declares, ‘I’m Jacob, and I’m gonna go down these steps,’ eventually accomplishing the task, albeit not in the smooth manner he may have hoped for.
The Euphoria actor, who has had a busy year with notable roles in films such as Saltburn and Priscilla, is set to take on the SNL stage following Kate McKinnon’s holiday-centric hosting debut in December. McKinnon, a standout from Barbie, made her hosting debut after bidding farewell to SNL as a castmember in May 2022, and was joined by fellow alums Kristen Wiig and Maya Rudolph during her monologue.
Saturday Night Live airs Saturdays at 11:30 p.m. ET / 8:30 p.m. PT on NBC and streams live on Peacock.
