Transit Service on the 4th of July

Are you planning to attend a 4th of July BBQ or fireworks show and wondering about transit options? Here’s a roundup of transit services across the region for the holiday.

Sound Transit

1 Line: The 1 Line will operate a modified Sunday service throughout the day. Trains will run every 15 minutes after 11 pm until around 2 am. Check Sound Transit’s website for the full schedule.

The last northbound train will depart Angle Lake Station at 1:42 am and arrive in Northgate at 2:39 am. The last southbound train will depart Northgate Station at 1:55 am and arrive at Angle Lake at 2:52 am.

2 Line: The 2 Line will run every 10 minutes until midnight. Visit Sound Transit’s website for the extended service schedule.

The last train from South Bellevue will depart at 11:32 pm, stop at Bellevue Downtown at 11:39 pm, and arrive at Redmond Technology at 11:52 pm. The last train from Redmond Technology will depart at 11:35 pm, stop at Bellevue Downtown at 11:48 pm, and arrive at South Bellevue at 11:55 pm. Free parking is available at select stations.

ST Express, T Line, and Sounder Service: ST Express buses and the T Line in Tacoma will operate on Sunday schedules. Sounder rail service will not be available.

King County Metro: Metro will run on a Sunday schedule with reroutes in various areas due to events. Check Metro’s Service Advisories page for route impacts.

Expect possible delays and crowding around South Lake Union due to Seafair’s fireworks display over Lake Union.

Seattle Streetcars: The South Lake Union Streetcar will have extended service hours. The last train departing Westlake towards Lake Union Park will be at 9:45 pm. No service will run during the fireworks display from 10:15 pm to 10:45 pm.

Extra streetcars will operate after the fireworks, with the last trip to downtown Seattle leaving Lake Union Park around 11:15 pm.

Water Taxi & Ferries: The West Seattle route of the King County Water Taxi will operate on its Sunday schedule.
