Traffic Control Measures Announced for July 4th Fireworks in Grand Haven

The Grand Haven Department of Public Safety in Michigan has announced street closures and traffic control measures for the upcoming July 4th Fireworks event. The closures will be in effect from 6:30 p.m. on July 4th to approximately 2:00 a.m. on July 5th.

The affected streets include Harbor Drive between Sherman and N. First, Washington from Harbor to First, Franklin from Harbor to First, Clinton from Harbor to First, Lafayette from Harbor to First, and Howard from Harbor to Sand. No vehicular traffic will be permitted in these areas after 6:30 p.m.

Following the fireworks display, Franklin Street will be designated as ‘One Way’ eastbound to manage traffic flow. Police officers will be stationed at each intersection on Franklin from Harbor to Beacon Blvd to assist with eastbound traffic and cross traffic. This traffic pattern adjustment will take place around 10:00 p.m.

Seventh Street from Franklin north to US-31 will be closed from 10:00 p.m. to approximately 12:00 a.m. to ensure safe traffic flow after the event. Additionally, there will be no parking on Franklin from Beacon Blvd to Harbor Drive to create an ‘Emergency Vehicle Only’ lane from 6:00 p.m. on July 4th to 2:00 a.m. on July 5th.

Drivers should note that left-hand turns will not be allowed for northbound and southbound traffic on US 31 between Jackson and Robbins Rd. to prevent traffic congestion caused by vehicles waiting to turn left.

Temporary ‘No Parking Tow Away’ zones will be established and strictly enforced during the event. Motorists are advised to pay attention to signage indicating these restricted parking areas.

Furthermore, the drawbridge in the area will remain closed from 10:00 p.m. on July 4th to 2:00 a.m. on July 5th.
