Ice Cream Recall Issued Due to Listeria Contamination Concerns

A recent recall has been issued by a company responsible for producing ice cream products for well-known brands such as Hershey’s, Jeni’s, and Friendly’s due to concerns over Listeria contamination. The company, Totally Cool Inc., took action after the Food and Drug Administration’s sampling revealed the presence of Listeria cells in some of their products.

Listeria is a harmful bacteria that can lead to mild gastroenteritis and fever when ingested, with more severe consequences for vulnerable populations. As a precautionary measure, the company has halted production and distribution of the affected items.

Among the products included in the recall are Hershey’s ice cream cakes and sandwiches, Jeni’s ice cream sandwiches and frozen desserts, as well as ChipWich and Friendly’s ice cream cakes. The recall covers various flavors and sizes of these products.

Fortunately, no illnesses related to the contaminated products have been reported thus far. Totally Cool Inc. is actively investigating the issue and implementing preventive measures to ensure consumer safety.
