The highly anticipated release of the first all-electric Range Rover SUV is generating significant excitement as over 38,000 buyers eagerly await its debut. The Range Rover Electric waitlist has doubled in the past four months, reflecting the strong interest in this groundbreaking vehicle.
Since opening orders in December, Range Rover has been gearing up to unveil its inaugural EV. Described as the ‘quietest and most refined Range Rover ever created,’ the electric vehicle has captured the attention of consumers.
Back in February, Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) reported that the Range Rover EV had already piqued the interest of over 16,000 potential buyers. Fast forward to JLR’s Investor Day 2024, where it was revealed that the waitlist for the Range Rover Electric has now surpassed 38,000, marking a 137% increase from the earlier figure.
With over 186 million views on social media platforms, the electric SUV has been eagerly anticipated by consumers. The first glimpses of the vehicle were unveiled in April, showcasing a sleek, all-black prototype designed for the modern EV era.
Range Rover touts its new in-house EV propulsion system as a game-changer, promising to enhance performance on various surfaces, ensuring all-terrain capability. The vehicle also boasts a new traction control system to enhance handling in challenging conditions.
Prior to its official launch later this year, Range Rover is subjecting the electric SUV to rigorous testing in extreme weather conditions to meet customer expectations. The vehicle’s capabilities include the ability to drive through 33.5 inches of water, surpassing competitors like the GMC Hummer EV and Toyota Land Cruiser.
Expected to hit the market by the end of 2024, the Range Rover Electric will enter the luxury SUV segment, competing with models such as the Porsche Macan EV, Jeep Wagoneer S, and Tesla Model Y.
