myCharge POWER HUB 10,000mAh Portable Chargers Recalled Due to Fire Hazard

myCharge has issued a recall for their POWER HUB All-In-One 10,000mAh portable chargers due to potential fire and burn hazards. The recall affects models AO10FK-A, AO10FK-B, and AO10FK-C, and includes approximately 567,000 units.

The recall was initiated after reports that the portable chargers could overheat while charging, posing a risk of fire and burns to users. Consumers are advised to stop using the affected chargers immediately and contact myCharge for a free replacement.

The myCharge POWER HUB chargers are black in color and come with two attached cables for charging electronic devices. They also feature retractable wall prongs for recharging the power bank. The model number is printed on the back of the charger, and affected units have specific date codes ending in 21, 22, or 23.

It is important for consumers to properly dispose of the recalled lithium-ion batteries in accordance with local regulations. These batteries should not be thrown in the trash or deposited in regular battery recycling boxes due to their hazardous nature.

Since the initiation of the recall, there have been 120 reports of overheating incidents related to the chargers. myCharge received five incident reports, including two residential fires causing property damage, while Costco received 115 returns citing various issues such as melting, expanding, smoking, and sparking.

No injuries requiring medical attention have been reported in connection with the recalled chargers. The products were sold exclusively at Costco stores.
