Florida State Baseball Adds Left-Handed Pitcher Joey Volini from USF

Florida State baseball recently secured its third transfer portal commitment with the addition of left-handed pitcher Joey Volini from USF. The six-foot-four, 253-pound redshirt junior is set to join the Seminoles for the 2025 season.

Volini, who underwent Tommy John Surgery and redshirted in 2023, returned to the mound with a solid performance, posting a 4.40 ERA in 28.2 innings in his first season back. In his freshman year, he showcased his talent with a 3.86 ERA in 16.1 innings, striking out 15 batters and limiting opponents to a .206 batting average.

Having played alongside Jamie Arnold at Jesuit Tampa, Volini brings a wealth of experience to the FSU pitching staff. His commitment marks the third portal pickup for the Seminoles this cycle, joining Evan Chrest and Peyton Prescott.

Despite a recent tough loss to No. 1 Tennessee in the 2024 Men’s College World Series, Florida State remains a strong contender in the college baseball scene. Stay tuned for more updates on the Seminoles’ upcoming season and roster additions.
