Miss Alabama Winner Stands Up Against Online Trolls

A recent winner of the Miss Alabama beauty contest, Sara Milliken, has bravely stood up against online trolls who criticized her appearance, labeling her an ‘unhealthy embarrassment’. Despite her joy at winning the National American Miss pageant, Sara faced a wave of negativity from individuals hiding behind screens.

In an interview with WKRG, Sara emphasized the impact of online words on individuals, highlighting the potential for such comments to lead people to dark places. Among the hurtful remarks directed at her was one from Blaine Tom Mieroughts questioning the standards of beauty pageants, while Randy Hicks and John Mason made derogatory comments about Sara’s appearance.

However, amidst the negativity, there were also messages of support and admiration for Sara. Tracie Stephens-Brooks praised Sara’s character and described her as a ‘beautiful obese diva with style, sass, and class’. Similarly, Samantha Thrash Duff expressed pride in Sara’s achievements and David Junior commended the pageant for breaking stereotypes.

Refusing to be deterred by the harsh criticism, Sara is now focusing on the upcoming national final in Florida. Despite admitting that the negative comments initially affected her, she is determined to maintain a positive outlook and continue spreading positivity.

Having participated in the contest three times, Sara Milliken’s victory reflects the pageant’s aim to promote positive self-image and enhance natural beauty. Her resilience in the face of online bullying serves as a reminder of the importance of kindness and acceptance in today’s society.
