Zapdos Returns to Pokemon GO as 5-Star Raid Boss

In the world of Pokemon GO, trainers are gearing up for the return of the Electric-type legendary bird, Zapdos, to Niantic’s popular mobile game. This iconic creature first made its debut back in August 2017 and has been a formidable raid boss in the game on multiple occasions. Now, Zapdos is set to make a comeback as a 5-star raid boss from June 1-10, 2024.

Pokemon GO Zapdos Raid Weaknesses

As an Electric- and Flying-type Pokemon, Zapdos is particularly vulnerable to Ice and Rock-type attacks, taking super effective damage from these move types. On the other hand, Zapdos resists Grass, Ground, Fighting, Bug, Flying, and Steel-type attacks.

Zapdos’ Stats and Moveset

As a 5-star raid boss, Zapdos boasts impressive stats:

  • Combat Power: 46,418
  • Attack: 253
  • Defense: 185
  • Stamina: 15,000 HP

Zapdos comes equipped with the following moves:

  • Fast Attacks: Charge Beam
  • Charged Attacks: Ancient Power, Drill Peck, Thunder, Thunderbolt, Zap Cannon

Trainers will have 300 seconds to defeat Zapdos in the raid and can team up with up to 19 other players for the battle.

Capturing Zapdos

After successfully defeating Zapdos in the raid, trainers can attempt to capture this legendary bird at various CP ranges based on weather conditions:

  • No weather boost: 1,930 – 2,015 CP at level 20
  • Weather boosted (Rainy and Windy): 2,413 – 2,519 CP at level 25

Additionally, there is a one-in-20 chance of encountering a shiny Zapdos during raids, starting from Zapdos Day on July 21, 2018.
