A lawsuit against former WWE CEO Vince McMahon has been put on hold at the request of the Justice Department. The lawsuit was filed by Janel Grant, a former WWE employee, who accused McMahon of sexual misconduct and other disturbing behaviors.

Grant alleged that McMahon coerced her into a sexual relationship to maintain her job and shared explicit content of her with other individuals within the company. The lawsuit also implicated former WWE executive John Laurinaitis in the alleged misconduct.

In response to a request from the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York, Grant agreed to pause the legal proceedings against McMahon and WWE. The reason cited was an ongoing undisclosed investigation.

McMahon, who resigned as CEO in 2022 and later from his position at the publicly traded company TKO, has denied the allegations made by Grant. He had previously entered into a settlement with Grant, involving a $3 million payment and a nondisclosure agreement.

Despite the initial settlement, Grant claims that McMahon ceased payments and is seeking to nullify the NDA while pursuing financial compensation. McMahon, on the other hand, has vehemently refuted the accusations, labeling them as false and vindictive.

This legal saga adds to the controversies surrounding McMahon, who had faced previous allegations of sexual misconduct resulting in significant payouts. An internal investigation revealed substantial payments made by McMahon to individuals involved in such allegations.

McMahon, in response to Grant’s lawsuit, has expressed his commitment to defending himself against what he deems as unfounded claims. The case remains pending as both parties await further developments in the legal process.
