Charlyne Yi has come forward with serious allegations regarding their experience on the set of the upcoming Apple TV+ series ‘Time Bandits,’ produced by Paramount Television Studios. Yi claimed to have been physically assaulted multiple times by an actor and psychologically abused during their time on set. They also stated that they were coerced to quit the project and were denied workers’ compensation for an alleged back injury and PTSD.
A spokesperson from Paramount TV Studios responded to these allegations by emphasizing the importance of the safety of their cast and crew. The studio conducted a thorough investigation into the matter and took additional steps to address the concerns raised by Yi.
According to a source close to the show, the incident in question involving Yi occurred on camera during a scene where actors were running, and a fellow actor accidentally bumped into them. While the source acknowledged Yi’s back injury, they did not comment on the cause of the injury. The source also clarified that the studio assisted Yi in receiving payment from the third party responsible for workers’ compensation.
Variety attempted to reach out to Yi for further details but did not receive an immediate response. Yi mentioned on Instagram that they are in the process of finding new representation to address the issues they faced on the ‘Time Bandits’ set.
In their Instagram post, Yi highlighted the importance of creating a safe environment for individuals to speak up about misconduct and questioned the existing structures that may prevent people from coming forward sooner.
