Miss Teen USA Steps Down Following Miss USA’s Resignation

Miss Teen USA made headlines recently as she stepped down from her title just days after Miss USA’s resignation. UmaSofia Srivastava, the reigning Miss Teen USA, announced her resignation via Instagram, stating that her personal values no longer aligned with the organization’s direction.

In her statement, Srivastava expressed her pride in being the first Mexican-Indian American to hold the role and mentioned her plans to focus on her academic career as she finishes 11th grade and begins the college application process. She also highlighted her commitment to advocacy for education and acceptance through her work with foundations.

The pageant responded to Srivastava’s resignation by stating that they respected her decision and that a successor would be named soon. Both Srivastava and the Miss Universe and Miss USA organizations have not provided further comments on the matter.

This resignation follows another high-profile exit from the pageant world, as Noelia Voigt recently stepped down from her Miss USA title, citing mental health reasons. Voigt, a Venezuelan American from Utah, had previously expressed her dedication to connecting with diverse communities across the United States.

Voigt’s Instagram post announcing her resignation sparked speculation among fans, with some noting that the first letter of the first 11 sentences in her statement spelled out ‘I am silenced.’ The Miss USA Organization supported Voigt’s decision and emphasized the importance of prioritizing mental health and well-being.
