University of Utah Lacrosse Team Secures Spot in 2024 NCAA Championships

The University of Utah Lacrosse team has secured a spot in the 2024 NCAA Division I Men’s Lacrosse Championships after winning the ASUN Championship for the second consecutive year. This victory marks their second appearance in the tournament, and they are set to face the No. 2-seed Duke Blue Devils in Durham, N.C. on May 11.

Utah’s path to the NCAA Championships was solidified with a 16-13 win against the Jacksonville Dolphins in the ASUN Championship game. This win not only secured their spot in the national tournament but also marked their 12th victory of the season, tying the school record for most wins in a single season.

Since joining the ASUN three seasons ago, Utah has been a dominant force in the league, clinching three regular-season titles and two tournament championships. Their impressive 22-1 record in regular-season ASUN games showcases their consistent performance and strength within the conference.

With three consecutive seasons of 10+ wins, the Utes have demonstrated their sustained success, with 34 of their 46 program victories coming in the last three years. Their remarkable performance this season has seen them rank in the top-10 in the NCAA in key statistical categories such as assists, caused turnovers, and points per game.

Utah’s offensive prowess has been highlighted by ASUN Player of the Year Ryan S. and the team’s scoring capabilities, ranking third in the nation in scoring margin and scoring offense. Their strong offensive presence, coupled with a solid defensive performance, has positioned them as formidable contenders in the upcoming NCAA Championships.
