Bose has announced the release of the new SoundLink Max Bluetooth speaker, a larger version of its popular SoundLink Flex model. The SoundLink Max is now available for preorder at a price of $399 and is set to ship on May 16.
Available in black or blue dusk, the SoundLink Max is a robust speaker weighing 4.7 pounds and measuring 10.42 inches wide by 4.73 inches high by 4.13 inches deep. With Bluetooth 5.3 technology, the speaker boasts up to 20 hours of battery life at moderate volume levels and is IP67 waterproof, dust-resistant, and shock-resistant.
Compared to its predecessor, the SoundLink Flex, the SoundLink Max is significantly larger and heavier, offering a different audio experience. The SoundLink Max features a Bose Articulated Array with three transducers and two custom-designed passive radiators to enhance stereo and bass performance.
The speaker comes with a removable rope handle and offers optional rope carrying straps in various colors for customization. Additional features include a 3.5mm auxiliary input, a USB-C port for charging, EQ settings via the Bose Music app, and compatibility with Bose SimpleSync for multiroom audio setups.
Moreover, the SoundLink Max is equipped with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Sound technology, supporting AAC and SBC audio codecs for enhanced audio quality.
