NYCRUNS Brooklyn Half Marathon Set to Showcase Beauty of Brooklyn

More than 20,000 runners are gearing up to participate in the highly anticipated NYCRUNS Brooklyn Half Marathon, set to take place on Sunday, April 28. The event, organized by NYCRUNS, will showcase the beauty of Brooklyn as runners traverse through various iconic locations in the borough.

Steve Lastoe, the founder and CEO of NYCRUNS, expressed his excitement for the event, stating, ‘NYCRUNS is proud to host the over 20,000 runners who will be basking in the glow of Brooklyn this Sunday. The Brooklyn Half Marathon Route

The route for the Brooklyn Half Marathon will kick off in North Brooklyn and will include scenic views under the Williamsburg, Manhattan, and Brooklyn bridges. Runners will pass through popular neighborhoods such as Dumbo and downtown Brooklyn before heading down Flatbush Avenue and Eastern Parkway, with the race concluding in Prospect Park.

Throughout the course, runners will have access to water stations, Lemon Lime Nuun Endurance hydration, and restroom facilities every one to two miles, ensuring a comfortable and well-supported race experience.

Road Closures

Several roads in Brooklyn will be impacted due to the marathon. The NYPD will be managing road closures to ensure the safety and smooth flow of the event. Some of the affected areas include Berry Street, Nassau Avenue, Bedford Avenue, Lorimer Street, Driggs Avenue, North 12th Street, Manhattan Avenue, Greenpoint Avenue, Franklin Street, Kent Avenue, Williamsburg Street West, Flushing Avenue, Navy Street, York Street, Gold Street, Front Street, Old Fulton Street, Cadman Plaza West, Court Street, Joralemon Street, and Brooklyn Bridge Boulevard.

Residents and commuters are advised to plan their routes accordingly and expect possible delays in these areas on the day of the marathon.
