A24 Announces Tribute Album for Restoration of ‘Stop Making Sense’ Featuring Paramore

On January 10, 2024, A24 announced the release of a tribute album for their restoration of ‘Stop Making Sense,’ featuring covers of Talking Heads’ songs by 16 different artists, including Paramore. The teaser clip, shared on social media, showed Paramore’s frontwoman, Hayley Williams, receiving a replica of the jacket worn by David Byrne on the original album artwork. The band’s cover of ‘Burning Down the House’ was previewed in the trailer.

A24 obtained the worldwide rights to the acclaimed 1984 concert film and re-released it in theaters last year for its 40th anniversary, becoming Imax’s highest-grossing live event. The film, directed by Jonathan Demme, features performances by core Talking Heads members and other musicians.

While no information on the other 15 artists contributing to the album has been released, the teaser trailer has generated significant excitement among fans. Additionally, Paramore’s recent social media activity, including the band’s website wipeout, has sparked curiosity and speculation among their followers.
