Iconic Chicago rockers, The Smashing Pumpkins, are set to headline the Illinois State Fair in August, as announced by officials on Monday. The Grammy-winning band is scheduled to take the stage at the state fair grandstand on Friday, Aug. 16. Ticket sales, ranging from $55 to $125, will commence on Friday through Ticketmaster.
Illinois State Fair Manager Rebecca Clark expressed her excitement, stating,
"The Smashing Pumpkins defined a new sound in the ’90s and have continued to evolve through the years. This show is sure to draw an eclectic and enthusiastic crowd, and we are excited to bring The Smashing Pumpkins back home to Illinois."
The band’s performance at the state fair will follow a concert at Wrigley Field on Aug. 13. Joining The Smashing Pumpkins at the state fair will be PVRIS.
