In a recent interview, she shared how her upbringing in an eco-conscious household has influenced her career choices and why she insists on integrating sustainability into every aspect of her business.
Eilish’s mother, Maggie Baird, revealed that the family has long been dedicated to environmental initiatives, such as transitioning their home to run on solar power and removing grass from their yard to save water. When Eilish started attending label meetings in 2016, her mother accompanied her to ensure that sustainability remained a priority in her career.
Today, Eilish and Baird continue to advocate for environmental issues on a larger scale. Baird founded Support + Feed in 2020, an organization that promotes plant-based food to mitigate climate change and increase food security, particularly at large-scale events like concerts. Eilish partnered with Support + Feed for her 2022 Happier Than Ever tour, where serving plant-based meals for the artists and crew saved 8.8 million gallons of water, according to REVERB, a nonprofit dedicated to addressing environmental concerns in the music industry.
