Breaking news from the world of supercars! The Hennessey Venom F5 Revolution has just achieved a remarkable feat by setting a new lap record at the Circuit of the Americas (COTA). Clocking in at an impressive 2 minutes and 10.9 seconds, the Venom F5 Revolution has outperformed its competitors, including the McLaren P1, by a staggering seven seconds.
The track-focused Revolution, with its weight of approximately 1,360kg, boasts significant aero enhancements compared to the standard Venom F5. Notable features include a massive carbon rear wing, revised front splitter, rear diffuser, and the incorporation of dive planes to improve grip. Additionally, a roof-mounted central scoop has been added to facilitate increased airflow to the engine.
Under the hood, the 6.6-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine, named ‘Fury’, remains unchanged. However, with 1,817bhp and 1,193lb ft of torque, the Revolution achieved an impressive speed of 193mph along COTA’s main straight.
According to Hennessey, the Revolution demonstrated remarkable performance, pulling a positive 1.59G through COTA’s corners and a negative 1.61 under braking. This exceptional performance can be attributed to the road-legal Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R tyres and carbon ceramic Brembo brakes.
John Hennessey, the founder and CEO of the company, expressed his enthusiasm for pushing the limits of the American hypercar, stating, “We look forward to continuing the journey and pushing the Venom F5 to set new speed records in the future.”
Having proven its capabilities on the track, Hennessey is now aiming to validate its claim of reaching 300mph, setting the stage for an exciting new challenge.
