68th Eurovision Song Contest Set to Take Place in Sweden

The highly anticipated 68th Eurovision Song Contest is set to take place on Saturday, May 11, 2024. This year’s Grand Final will be broadcast live from the Malmö Arena in Sweden, marking the seventh time that Sweden has hosted the prestigious event.

Following Loreen’s victory in the previous year’s contest with the song ‘Tattoo,’ the 68th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest promises to be a spectacular event. The Grand Final will feature performances from all the acts that successfully made it through their respective Semi-Finals, as well as the Big Five countries – United Kingdom, France, Spain, Germany, and Italy. Additionally, last year’s winner, Sweden, will also automatically qualify for the Grand Final.

The event will be hosted by Swedish-American actress Malin Åkerman and iconic Eurovision-veteran Petra Mede. Petra Mede, a fan favorite, will be hosting Eurovision for the third time, having previously hosted the Song Contest in Malmö in 2013 and Stockholm in 2016 alongside 2015 Eurovision winner Måns Zelmerlöw. The duo is known for their memorable interval act called ‘Love, Love, Peace, Peace.’

For viewers in the UK, the Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 will be broadcast live on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at 8pm (BST) on BBC One, BBC iPlayer, BBC Radio 2, and BBC Sounds. The UK commentary for the event will be provided by Graham Norton, who will be joined by Scott Mills and Rylan on BBC Radio 2 and BBC Sounds.
