3 Hidden Hiking Treasures in San Diego

If you are a passionate hiker, then imagining your life without hiking will be similar to imagining a fish without water. But sometimes, exploring the same path over and over again can be a bit tiring. Thus, this story will introduce you to three hidden treasures of San Diego that are yet to gain the popularity they deserve.

Navajo Canyon Open Space

The 2-mile-base hiking trail is extended through the canyons in Allied Gardens. This hidden gem will never let you believe that you are roaming around your neighborhood. Starting from the Playground Street, you can reach the top, crossing Adobe Falls Road.

Bernardo Mountain Summit Trail

While beholding a different backdrop from Cowles Mountain, Iron Mountain, or Mount Woodson, the Bernardo Summit Trail will take you to the 900-foot elevation gain to let you explore the Coast to Crest Trail System until you reach the end, passing Lake Hodges.

Tecolote Canyon Trail

The 6-mile-based hiking trail will let you have a different hiking experience than the Marian Brea Park in the UTC area. However, this location consists of a few steep hills, requiring a bit extra endurance.
