2024 Hyundai Elantra Hybrid Receives Price Hike and Upgrades

The 2024 Hyundai Elantra Hybrid has received a price hike, coinciding with its refreshed exterior and interior upgrades. Hyundai recently unveiled the pricing details for the 2024 Elantra Hybrid, revealing a starting price of $26,250 for the base Blue grade before destination. This marks a $1,700 increase from the equivalent 2023 model. When factoring in the mandatory destination charge of $1,150, the total price for a 2024 Hyundai Elantra Hybrid Blue amounts to $27,400.

The higher-end Limited grade also experiences a $300 price surge compared to the 2023 model, resulting in a total price of $30,600 with destination.

According to CarsDirect, these price adjustments widen the gap between the Elantra Hybrid and the standard Elantra. The non-hybrid 2024 Elantra is now $4,775 cheaper, compared to $3,600 before.

All Elantra models have undergone styling revisions for 2024, with Elantra Hybrid models receiving a larger infotainment screen. However, fuel economy remains relatively unchanged.

The EPA city and highway fuel economy ratings for the Blue model have slightly shifted for 2024, with a city rating of 51 mpg and a highway rating of 58 mpg, in contrast to 53 mpg city and 56 mpg highway for 2023. Nonetheless, the 54-mpg combined rating remains unchanged, as do all ratings for the Limited model, which maintains a 50 mpg combined, 49 mpg city, and 52 mpg highway rating.

The Elantra Hybrid was introduced in the 2021 model year as part of a redesigned Elantra compact sedan lineup, sharing its bold aesthetic and sporty driving character with non-hybrid models. Originally positioned alongside the now-discontinued Hyundai Ioniq Hybrid hatchback, the Elantra Hybrid does not include the plug-in hybrid and all-electric powertrain options offered by the Ioniq.

The primary competitor for the Elantra Hybrid has been the Toyota Corolla Hybrid, known for its impressive value within Toyota’s lineup. Additionally, it will soon face competition from the revived Honda Civic Hybrid, set to join Honda’s lineup later this year.
