10-Year-Old Wows ‘America’s Got Talent’ Judges with Heavy Metal Performance

During a recent episode of ‘America’s Got Talent,’ the judges were left stunned by the incredible performance of 10-year-old Maya Neelakantan. The young girl from India wowed the audience and judges, including Simon Cowell, Sofia Vergara, Heidi Klum, and Howie Mandel, with her heavy metal rendition of Papa Roach’s hit ‘Last Resort’ on her electric guitar.

Neelakantan started off her act with a slower, traditional song before transitioning into the high-energy heavy metal tune, leaving everyone in awe. Vergara couldn’t believe Neelakantan’s age, praising her energy and confidence, calling her audition ‘perfect’ and ‘amazing.’

When Mandel asked who inspired her, Neelakantan mentioned Alex Jones from Tool and Gary Holt, the guitarist from Exodus and Slayer. The judges and audience gave her a standing ovation, with Klum expressing how much everyone loved her performance and Cowell commending her transformation from a shy 10-year-old to a ‘rock goddess.’

Cowell also noted that Neelakantan’s audition marked the beginning of what could be a promising career in music. This season of ‘America’s Got Talent’ has already been full of surprises, with Cowell making show history by using his Golden Buzzer twice in one episode. The first recipient was Liv Warfield, a Chicago-based singer, followed by the group Sky Elements, who impressed with a drone light show.

The show continues to showcase exceptional talent, with each episode bringing new and exciting acts to the stage. Neelakantan’s performance is just one example of the incredible talent that ‘America’s Got Talent’ continues to discover and celebrate.
